Everyone deserves security, dignity, and the chance to live a stable, fulfilling life. Yet many in Bangladesh face economic hardship, uncertainty, and environmental challenges. At CommonAct, we work with communities to test approaches, strengthen local systems, and expand what works. Through these efforts, we improve livelihoods, build resilience, and promote environmental sustainability that lasts.
CommonAct is a youth-led nonprofit organization based in Bangladesh. We work directly with communities to tackle environmental sustainability and economic inequality with belive to evidence based solution. Our goal is to help create a net-zero future where the environment is protected, and people have fair opportunities to thrive. We focus on real actions that bring lasting improvements to both local and broader levels.

what we do
CommonAct addresses the root causes of climate vulnerability and economic inequality in Bangladesh. We work by designing practical solutions with communities, testing approaches in real conditions, and scaling what proves effective. Our initiatives create lasting change by strengthening local systems, supporting youth-led social ventures, and connecting successful approaches to wider networks and institutions. Through this cycle of action, learning, and replication, CommonAct shows that sustainable, long-term change is possible and achievable at scale.
why we do this
Across Bangladesh, communities are experiencing climate impacts like floods, unpredictable weather, and resource strain, while also facing economic pressures that make daily life difficult. We believe that by working closely with people on the ground, we can develop solutions that help communities adapt, improve livelihoods, and build a more resilient future.
CommonAct aims to create lasting change in Bangladesh by tackling both climate and economic challenges. By 2035, we aim to cut carbon emissions by 20%, empower 100,000 people through stronger livelihoods and access to opportunities, and catalyze $50 million in investments that build a net-zero economy. Every project and initiative is designed to help communities become more resilient, improve daily life, and move toward a sustainable future where people and the environment thrive together.
